LUMIN SHIELD® flood fires all 3,500 lumens into a wide wall of light, filling a room, a yard or a path in front of you in an instant. It is the burst you want when something moves in the dark.
SEARCH spot focuses the beam to push 1,500 lumens out to 380 metres, picking out a figure across a field or a sign down the road. One light covers the close work and the long look, instead of making you choose.

The central core of the UHi 20 MAX works on its own in SEARCH mode to throw a tight, far-reaching beam, while the full array opens up for flood. NiteLab built the UHi LED around a round emitting surface for high beam intensity and a clean, long-distance beam.
Five everyday levels sit underneath, from a 5-lumen ultralow that runs 57 hours up to a 1,100-lumen high, so the EDC31 handles a quiet read in a tent and a full search down a trail with the same light.

Most compacts give you a single beam. The EDC31 switches between a 3,500-lumen flood and a 380-metre throw, so it covers both jobs.

Built to be carried hard.
The EDC31 is machined from aluminium with an HA III hard-anodised finish that resists scratches and wear from daily pocket carry, a tool bag or a glovebox.
IP68 sealing handles 2 metres of submersion and the body shrugs off a 2-metre drop, so weather and knocks do not slow it down. An ATR module manages heat so the output stays steady on the high levels.

How do I reach the flood and the search beams?
LUMIN SHIELD® flood and SEARCH spot sit on the tactical tail button, reached by a half press and hold, so the burst and the long throw are one press away. The everyday levels are handled by the side switch.
Is the battery replaceable?
The 3,800mAh cell is built in and recharges over USB-C, which keeps the body slim and sealed to IP68. Charge it from any USB-C source, including a power bank, in about 1 hour 45 minutes.
Why does it dim during long high-output use?
The ATR module eases output back as the body warms during sustained high or burst use, to protect the LED and electronics, then restores it as the light cools. You can re-trigger SEARCH or LUMIN SHIELD® at any time.
